“Let the Winds of Freedom Blow!

PV pursues positive public policy through several channels.

First, we publish commentary on issues facing the City. Second, we rally at the City Hall to effect change. And third, we collect signatures for local ballot measures.

As Pasadena continues to grow, many issues arise that don’t receive adequate attention.  This site is dedicated to those who have city issues which are either ignored, neglected or discounted.  Whether it is with the City Council or the City Bureaucracy, there is often a tendency for them to follow one narrative, to follow their own agenda, and to not pay attention to some issues which can impact the City in significant ways.  The Council often talks about “diversity,” and yes, the City has been successful in developing staff which represents people of many different ethnic backgrounds and origins.  And yet, there is one type of diversity which the City lacks. It is “cognitive” diversity; that is, a culture where different ideas are welcome.

Pasadena Voices allows for the cognitive diversity through the expression of substantive ideas that receive little attention.  We welcome input as we continue to contribute to the culture and experience of Pasadena.

LEADERSHIP TEAM

The PV BOA is members in the Pasadena community that are concerned with the direction the city is currently moving. The BOA is made mostly of longterm Pasadena residents, people of private business and government service backgrounds, some still active and some retired.

The City Council’s decisions relating to traffic management and apartment construction are and will clearly alter Pasadena’s favorable environment. These two issues are only two of many issues with which we are concerned. We wish to preserve this aspect of the life we enjoy in this City.
